The last few days have been quite shitty, overall. I'll pretend, I believe you care, so here we go:
I did not turn in the first written exam on Friday 12th. It was almost ready to go, all I needed was to read it through a final time, set it up and make a pdf. Suddenly out of nowhere, there's a power cut in my apartment at 7:15 am Friday morning. WTF?! That kind of stuff is NOT supposed to happen in Denmark 2018. Anyway, I was without electricity for three (crucial) hours, with all relevant info on my iMac - and 17% battery on my phone! Consequence: I'm facing the re-exam, which means not eight pages as the regular exam, but another 15 on a new subject + a 30 min. oral examination! It's a force majeure situation, but the university has a zero tolerance policy on such matters. Needless to say, I was in a very foul mood during the weekend! Alas, it won't get me down, but I have insanely busy times ahead, as if I wasn't under pressure to begin with. However, it might take my mind off nuisances.
Had a good meeting with an old friend of my family at the art museum today. Hadn't seen her for years, but we ended up talking about some of my side projects. She has good connections, and a long career behind her in venture capital, and offered free advise regarding business plans etc. + introduction to resourseful and - namely - reliable potential investors. I know how to make a business plan, but network is key!!!
If you haven't seen M. Night Shyamalan's Split yet, I hereby recommend it! Also, don't forget to watch or re-watch Midnight Diner - Tokyo Stories!
And now... Meet an old heroine of mine:
I hope you're all doing well out there behind your screens!
